Westfieldman Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 All Internet access is monitored. They will know you don't do any work then Quote
Blatman Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Fortunately, 99% of the things I do for work involve data transfer via the company internet connection, so my usage is *always* going to be high. However, I'm reasonably sure they log typed URL's as well as everything else, so if they ever decide to actually look at what I'm typing/clicking, they'll be able to see. The "soft block" doesn't actually do anything except give you a chance to save yourself from accessing material that may be against company policy. Of course, the soft block is worded in such a way that it looks like you may be in trouble already. It keeps the less savvy off the net during work hours, which is good news for download speeds Quote
adhawkins Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 They both work fine... Ok, so they've specifically blocked the avatars service, and not just all of gentlyhosting.co.uk. Wonder who decided that the avatars service wasn't allowed? Andy Quote
Blatman Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 The avatars site soft block words it as a web site that links to offsite storage and/or proxy avoidance, which os why they want to confirm that a company user wants access. I've had trouble with other sites like that, such as gotomypc.com. The site isn't actually blocked with no access at all, I could press the "Continue" button on the soft block page, but I suspect that doing so would flag up the url to IT, and then there'd be questions to answer. So I'll let sleeping dogs lie, I think... Quote
Doug D. Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 , yet the owner seemed to think the handling was quite acceptable Incident while driving back from the meet...his car now needs body repairs....allegedly Quote
Doug D. Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 When the top ball joint locking nut is tightened it can 'tip' the joint slightly off the vertical, if it happens both sides one side would appear to tipped the opposite way to the other side this doesn't affect the set up attall Quote
TheRealMcNei11 Posted March 6, 2005 Author Posted March 6, 2005 Ok so first of all top wishbone has been replaced & I can now go in a straight line They didn't explain the ball joint problem to me properly, they weren't upside down. It was how they sit on the lower wishbone with the plate bit on top or below. Anyway they phoned westfield & it's sorted. Cheers everyone for your help and it is sunny atm but I have to go to work in a bit Quote
