PeterOz Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 Good site. But they overlooked the main reason why people sit in the middle lane - because they think they have to. People aren't taught to drive on the motorway, you can get your full licence without having been anywhere near a motorway. So no wonder they think that there's actually a 'slow' lane, and a 'fast' lane, and the 'slow' lane is reserved for lorries...... Quote
Dracoro Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 To a certain degree I agree. However, you do often see middle lane drivers behave correctly when there's a police car about. This would indicate that they do know what they should do but don't for whatever daft reason. Then's there's the daft excuse about 'safety' with having an extra lane in case of a blow out etc. which is cobblers as they have this 'extra' lane in the form of a hard shoulder which doesn't have cars flying down at high speeds, you can come to a stop on the HS too. I know which lane I'd rather be if something went wrong with my car! Quote
S8ight Posted March 1, 2005 Author Posted March 1, 2005 interesting bit on there though, undertaking is not illegal Quote
oldman Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 Knew an undertaker once..he once left hearse an a hill and forgot to leave his andbrake on .As it rolled down the hill he dashed into the nearest chemists and said "Ave you got something to stop me coffin" sorry Quote
Frau Vesty Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 Oldman, you and yer mate mad lon just get worse and worse PeterOz: people *should* understand lane etiquette, it is in the highway code after all. Quote
KerryS Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 Middle-laners are good! When I'm towing the caravan at 60mph, I have lane 1 all to myself - until I catch up with the lorries doing 59mph that is! Kerry S Quote

geelhoed Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 A Dutchman without a tow bar? I really really hate camping, give me a hotel anyday! At least overtaking a caravan isn't a problem anymore with the Westie Quote
