Nifty Posted October 23, 2003 Posted October 23, 2003 Has anyone heard of one of these?? I'm ashamed to say I got distracted by the local Robin Hood club gathering in the pub car park a couple fo Sundays ago. They were just going for a four course Sunday lunch so they could fit in their cars. Anyway, one chap there had a very strange looking car that at first glance was a Westy until I noticed the agricultural front suspension. He said it had a Kawazaki engine and was called a Locozaki (spelling may not be correct-it sounds like that). Who builds them? Weight?? Quote
Blatman Posted October 23, 2003 Posted October 23, 2003 Sound like it could be a LoCost with a Kawasaki bike engine....... Wotcha, btw.... Quote
david.c Posted October 23, 2003 Posted October 23, 2003 They were just going for a four course Sunday lunch so they could fit in their cars. mmmmm full size Sierra seats.........comfy David Quote
ChrisG Posted October 23, 2003 Posted October 23, 2003 Stuart Taylor Motorsport use the Loco..... name (Locoblade, Locosaki etc) but if it had "agricultural front suspension" then it doesnt sound like one of them as the ST Locost chassis has front suspension every bit as good as a Westie etc. Weight wise, a Locost with a BEC engine is usually about the same as an equivalent Westie BEC, so probably around 400-450kgs depending on spec. screamager1668 Posted October 23, 2003 Posted October 23, 2003 Stuart Taylor Motorsport use the Loco..... name (Locoblade, Locosaki etc) As Chris says, ST use the 'Loco' tag. LocoBlade for the ST fitted with the Fireblade engine, or (as mine) LocoRage for the ST fitted with the Raw Engineering 4Age engine. I've not come across one with a Kawazaki engine in though, although I'm sure it's perfectly possible. ST Locost chassis has front suspension every bit as good as a Westie I know I'm biased, but I have to agree. It can't have been an ST if the front suspension was that bad. Carl Quote
barney Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 we use Zx9 engines for the Locosaki cars and fireblade cbr engines for the Locoblade cars. as regards to the front suspension ,people can buy as much or as little as they want theres no specific list of parts in a kit its up to personal choice, with folks buying chassis and bodywork and manufacturing their own parts to complete.you can buy everything if you want to as well of course we also do billet alloy sumps for blade and zx9 engines and drive flanges for most bec conversions (must see editor of WW to get an advert in )thats done it gets coat and runs before Mark excommunictes me cheers Barney (phil) Quote
ChrisG Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 Do you work for/with Ian Gray then Phil? Quote

Nifty Posted October 25, 2003 Author Posted October 25, 2003 Thanks for the replies. By agricultural I was referring to the weight of it (by appearance) rather than crap welding - some of us rural types are pretty good welders, unfortunately I don't fall into that category. It was more remeniscent of a Robin Hood than a Westie. Blatters, How are you and Sue?? Don't think we've seen each other this year. I've been down to the Ace Cafe a couple of times but have failed to make The Goat at all this year Have promised to do Le mans in the 7 next year, how about you? Quote
Blatman Posted October 25, 2003 Posted October 25, 2003 We're fine ta. Haven't made The Ace at all this year, and I think we only made The Goat once (in May, IIRC......). Le Mans next year for deffo. Just waiting for the form........ I trust you are well, and well rested, now that harvesting season is over Quote
