I can't see what you can lose by trying McAfee. $30 a year in subscription. What's that these days, a tenner? 15 quid? ???

A no-brainer if you ask me. If you don't like it, then you've only lost 15 quid...

Install a good anti trojan. RunDll.exe is a valid program. If it crashes during shutdown it often indicates a hardware fault in the auto off hardware, however depending on the path of rundll.exe if can be LOXOSCAM and Backdoor.SchoolBus.B trojans. It is most likely the rundll.exe is one of these pair. To find this out run up the computer and hit ctrl-alt-del to bring up task manager. Go to processes, click on the collumn Image Name to order by Image name. Look for a process called rundll.exe. If it is there then you almost certainly have a trojan as rundll is only run quickly and does not remain running residendly normally.

I am not a fan of norton.
