custardtart Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 Going on 22nd April so would be interested in your thoughts on the place? Quote
GuyH Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 That place is cursed! First time we went there we blew a fuse and everything stopped! Second time we went there we blew the engine and everything stopped after only 6 laps! Let's hope it's a curse specific to Strikers Quote
adhawkins Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 I like Hullavington, more so now I've got more power Be very careful on the quick right hander around the back...Malcolm will tell you it's a little slippy. Andy Quote
custardtart Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 What's the run off like? I'm planning on letting the girlfriend drive and thought an airfield might be the safest place for her to learn!!!! Quote
adhawkins Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 In most places pretty good, especially the really quick places (the main straight ends at a hairpin, but the runway continues on for a good while beyond that). Around the back (on the perimeter roads) you're straight onto the grass, but you have to go for a while before you'll hit anything. Andy Quote
custardtart Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 Cheers, should be an okay place for a first go then. As long as the "curse " doesn't strike. Quote
adhawkins Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 I've been there 3 times now. Twice in the wet, and once in the very cold and dry. Only had one 'off', and that was when it was cold and dry (on A509s and getting a little too cocky ). Andy Quote
Leon B Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 That place is cursed! Second time we went there we blew the engine and everything stopped after only 6 laps! Glad Im not the only one then Hopefully that wont be repeating itself again.... I did like the setup at Hullavington though, nice mix of straights and corners. Keevil on the 14th is my first track day of the year Quote

Al Yupright Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 _Might_ have mine back together for then. Not booked it though, so depends if there are spaces closer to the time. Quote
adhawkins Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Mostly good -- but I have to admit that the grass on the outside of the fast right causes me some concern. There may be plenty of it, but it's very rough. The idea of sliding sideways onto it at speed appealeth not Yep, BTDT Andy Quote
adhawkins Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Where is it?How much? For what? Just North of Chippenham, about 100 quid for a full day of open pitlane track action! More here. Andy Quote
scott beeland Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Trackdaying seems soooo far away as my car is still in too many bits LEON....Don't blow another one up! Quote
