arancia Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Hallo all!!! My name is Marco and i'm an Italian boy... ( 25 years old... ) I'm here because i want to buy a westfield in uk. In italy it's very difficult to find westfiled cars for sale and the prices are too high!!! So i want to buy my westfied car in Uk and drive Her ( ) at home!!! But I know is not too easy, because i need some important documents to accredit (?) the car in italy, like the MOT, V5 and the VEHICLE SPECIFICATION SHEET that is available only for the cars built by factory. But I don't know if the "mother factory" can give this last document to everybody who wants it. Somebody can help me?? A friend, who did what i'm trying to do, bought a caterham from an official catheram trade that demanded directly to caterham the vehicle specification sheet that after few days came. I hope to do it!!! however i'm sorry for my bad english. Thanks you! Ps. I'm a trackday lover and sunday i was in Monza with my car: Soon with my westfield??? I hope so!!! By!!! Quote
neilwillis Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 There is a Westfield dealership in Italy, but if you want to get one here and import it, I'd suggest you contact Westfields direct. They have factory built used cars for sale, and I am certain they'll have all the necessary paperwork for export too. +441384 400077 is the number to call Quote
Richgm Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 There is a Westfield dealership in Italy. Here's the link to the Italian dealers web site Quote
Stuart Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 He's right, though - it's expensive. £22k for an 1800 Sport Quote
KerryS Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Marco Welcome! Driving a Westfield in Italy must be close to Heaven. Can't help but good luck Kerry S Quote
arancia Posted February 17, 2005 Author Posted February 17, 2005 thanks to all!!! @neilwillis: As you say I want to get a westie in uk and import it here. I saw on the westfiled site the "pre owned" page but there are 3 cars on sale! Thank yoo for the number to call! @Stuart: you have reason. The prices are very high. There is a difference of £9.000 for an 1800 Sport in italy!!! Too much!!! @KerryS: Close to heaven... I hope so!!! Do you know some interesting internet sites where i can find used westie cars? See you! Quote
adhawkins Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 FindIt, PistonHeads, here would be good places to start. Also, maybe see if you can get someone to send you out a copy of one of our kit car magazines, they're full of adverts. Finally, joining the club will get you a copy of Westfield World (the club magazine) on a regular basis, there's always a few cars for sale there. Andy Quote

adhawkins Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 It would be better if you followed your friend and you bought a Caterham You really think so Tony? Andy Quote
arancia Posted February 18, 2005 Author Posted February 18, 2005 A friend, who did what i'm trying to do, bought a caterhamSarebbe migliore se seguiste il vostro amico e compraste una Caterham Forse ha ragione, ma i prezzi della westie sono molto piu' "umani" della caterham, e non so se la differenza ne vale veramente la pena, no? adhawkins Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 Perhaps there's a reason for it, but the prices of "the human" westie are a lot less than the caterham, and I do not know if the difference of it is worth truly the pain, no? (Courtesy of babelfish.altavista.com.) Andy Quote
arancia Posted February 18, 2005 Author Posted February 18, 2005 Thank you adhawkins! Im' sorry. What do you think about the the difference of price between caterham and westfield?? it is worth the pain? Quote
adhawkins Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 Personally? No. Caterham have the advantage of a well known marque, and something their owners call 'heritage'. Westfield have the advantage of giving you incredibly good value for money. Compare the price of a 200BHP Caterham with the price of a similar Westfield. I'm sure the Westfield would be miles cheaper. However, you pays your money and you makes your choice... Oh, and don't worry about posting in Italian (although if you keep doing it you'll be limiting the number of people who can answer! ). My post wasn't a complaint, was just trying to be helpful (and omitted the smiley I would usually put to indicate this, now corrected). Andy Quote
