Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 From reading a number of these posts, I'd guess the issue is whether you've any convictions and/or any accidents to declare (regardless of protected NCB etc). It sounds like many of the companies discussed, jack the prices up much more readily than if you were insuring a "regular" type of car. The average for a faily clean driving record seems to be from just under £200 to £250 or so for a 30 ish year old. Add six points or a few accidents and it sounds like many of the companies put you up around the £500 mark. Quote
gadrego Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 I had a fault accident last year, bought a 2.0vx in novemeber. I'm 24 and I think I'm paying £650 fully comp (5000 mile limit) with FJ, which I think is pretty reasonable with no NCB. For comparison, before my accident, I way paying £800 with five years no claims on a 1.8T Golf, I think my current insurance total for tin top and Westy with no NCB is cheaper than that! Quote
Rob Waldron Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Insured mine today for the first time. I used a company called Lancaster which gave me discount for being a club member. £158 FC. Which i thought was very reasonable. 1 Quote
