call me thick, but where the hell are the archives?

And just in case you are unaware, and because there will be others reading this and wondering the same thing...

*Everything* that has ever been posted to this board is stored in a searchable database. The Boardroom isn't like a chat room where once it's gone, that's it. No, we keep *everything*, and it's all searchable...

The search function allows you to er.... search the archives. It works the same as a Google search for the most part so if you have a question, and you have an inkling that no-one has asked before then post it up. However, if you think there is a good chance that the question has arisen before, it may save you some time to do a search. Do you really think you're the first person in the 4 years this board has been running to ask about insurance? :p It also gives you and us the opportunity to resurrect old threads and to keep the knowledge base growing if and when new ideas come up.

This baordroom is a fantastic reference tool for all sorts of subjects from building a Westfield to advice on how to sort yer builders out. It's an invaluable resource and I love it

so is about £200-£300 a good price? i've never insured a kit car before especaily a Q plate. will a Q make any difference?

car reg dont make any difference

seems they go by engine size as the main criteria

I'd say 2-300 is about right for limited mileage policy 2 ltr car

mine is £220 basic full comp but there are lots of exemptions with kits so check the small print !

HTH

My advice would be to read some of the comments made about Adrain Flux in previous posts.

Not a bad price though.  Worth giving MSM a call.  Never heard a bad thing said about them.

osbourne and son have kept sending me cover notes for a whole year and not sent me the full copy of the policy despite several requests, will look elsewhere this time around with better service. ???

Footman Jones have just quoted me £500 limited mileage which I think is very steep. I'm 34 and have six points on the licence thanks too Thames Valley Police's white money collection vans. However, I pay less for all my other cars which have bigger engine, more HP and worth more than the westfield.

Mine was about £190 Comp for 5k miles p.a. with Adrian Flux which I thought was very good as it was my first cover on a kit-car. A bit better than the £400+ quote from Graham Sykes!

I'm probably going to regret saying this but I work for a motor insurance company so if anyboby has any questions let me know. I might not know all the answers but I'll be able to get them! My company are going to be starting a kit-car scheme soon with Backford Bloor (www.insurance4kitcars.co.uk) so you could give them a try.
