itguy Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Am laid up at home at the mo with some kind of dodgy infection in my accelerator foot/ankle... Had a horrid realisation yesterday that if it gets too bad, I might not be able to drive the westy ever again Ahh well, doc says he wants to see me again on Friday after this week off work with my legs in the air So this means no work in the garage, but plenty of wscc!! MartT Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Sorry to hear of your gammy ankle. I twisted my right ankle about 3 years ago, never been right since. The main problem is driving Anyone tried fitting the accelerator on the left? Martin Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 You should be ok to drive the westy with a stump Amputation is very painful tho' so u should be ready for the summer . Buzz Quote

itguy Posted February 14, 2005 Author Posted February 14, 2005 was wondering if anyone has ever fitted a hand mounted throttle / brake to a westfield I heard someone had an automatic westfield somewhere - is that true??? Quote
MARSDALEBEAR Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Some people will do anything to get out of helping to put my engine back in! What I want to know is how an Itguy manages to hurt his foot...especialy one who works in a hospital? Quote

A guy called Chris Snell or as I know him as 'Ironside' (cos' he's in a wheel chair) but most people know him as 'No pedals' had hand controls in his striker as does his subaru. & the didn't hang about..especially when it came to buying a round!! a bit like Neil Willis!! Never mention " Your Round" to Neil he'll pass out!! Buzz Quote
itguy Posted February 14, 2005 Author Posted February 14, 2005 OMG That must be an interesting combo - an auto westfield. With the right box/engine combo I bet that could be quite an interesting drive!! Top bloke for not letting his disability get to his driving Quote
