Sony Picture Package 2004

Any body using the above? I can get it to down load footage from my Sony Camcorder(DCR-HC30E PAL) I've followed the Computer Applications Guide and nothings happening apart from not recognising the CamCorder on the system despite being seen by the PC and the USB streaming in 'on'

I click copy automatically it goes to picture package menu it shows 'select a copy source' but its blank?

It also does this if I try to copy to CD-R (AS per the info given in the manual

Any suggestions?

How are you connecting to the pc? If you are using the usb connection then you will have problems. Connect via a firewire port if you can, it will save you a whole load of bother. I have a DCR-HC20, one down from your camcorder and I have no problems using with firewire.

If you need any further help, drop me a line.

BTW, the Sony packaged editing software isn't that good I found. I invested in Adobe Premiere Elements (£70) although the Pinnacle Studio products are just as good apparently.

I use Pinnacle Studio and it's pretty good. I download fron a Panasonic Camcorder via the Firewire card and have no problems. Like you Buzz I initialy tried the USB port but it could'nt handle the amount of data.
