Best way to cool down a hot engine

No offence, but who gives a toss as long as it does'nt boil?

There are enough "worries" involved with Westie ownership without creating yourself more stress.

And by worries I mean;

Why are there no decent roads I can drive fast on.?

Why do other road users seem to resent my individuality/car?

How am I going to afford ten track days this year?

How am I going to get the time off work for said track days?

How can I justify the vast Westfield expenditure to the Misses when the kids hav'nt had a propper meal in weeks ect ect?

Sorry don't want to appear confrontational, but just drive it and enjoy it don't worry about it.

Chaz.

I'd use a light gentle throttle so as not to add a load more heat and increase speed to get air flowing through the radiator.

I'd go with option 1 too, only because that would also help bring down oil temperature which may be keeping the coolant hot too.

Good point. Sorry about that.

I can help you out on your points:

Why are there no decent roads I can drive fast on.?

There are loads.

Why do other road users seem to resent my individuality/car?

It's not your car, they hate you personally.

How am I going to afford ten track days this year?

Get a job that pays more money.

How am I going to get the time off work for said track days?

Call in poorly.

How can I justify the vast Westfield expenditure to the Misses when the kids hav'nt had a propper meal in weeks ect ect?

Two suggestions:

1. New, more reasonable wife

2. Spelling lessons

 Had a very bad day at work that day and was in a pretty tetchy mood.

By the time I posted I was well into the 4th can of the old wife beater

I should clarify points;

Why are there no decent roads I can drive fast on? (without speed cameras, sneaky plod and potholes)

Maybe we should have a good road guide section in the boardroom.

Why do other road users seem to resent my individuality/car?(and turn up their noses when they find out I built it myself and its not a Caterham)

Thanks for that, did my self confidence no end of good :-0 !!!!!

How am I going to afford ten track days this year? (And feed the kids)

Good point about a better job, just negotiated myself a 4k payrise for moving to another restaurant

:xmas:

How am I going to get time off for said track days? (without calling in sick)

In 18 years of employment with the same company I've only has 6 weeks sick. 2 to recover from a hernia op and 4 with a broken ankle, not fair to stitch up your team mates throwing a sickie.

How can I justify the vast Westfield expenditure to the Misses when the kids hav'nt had a decent meal in weeks? (and the house still is not finished after 5 years)

I don't think any bloke can have a wife as reasonable, tolerent and long suffering as Mrs Slide.

Married seven years and I still think I'm the most lucky bloke in the world.

Thanks for the other two suggestions.

Happy with wife, no upgrade required.

 spelling never was my strong point but I do try

Chaz  :p
