zoso Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 I hope this post is ok, as it's a bit of a plug, if not please forgive and remove. As some may or may not know I'm currently a third year student at the University of Central Lancashire studying, Motorsports Beng (hons). As part of the third year we enter into Formula Student, an international competition in which students design, build and race prototype hillclimb/sprint cars. The cars are open single seaters with a maximum engine capacity of 600cc breathing through a 20mm restrictor. This year we are entering two cars, one brand new design and one re-work of 2004's car, which competes in a slightly different way. At the moment we have recieved sponsorship from Caged, Dave Clarke Racing, BAE systems, Petrochem Carless and Pendle engineering. We are greatfull to all our sponsors, but must find more sponsorship to be able to compete in 2005. This is why i'm putting this up here, i'm the Team leader of the class 1 team (new design), if there is anyone out there in westy land who thinks that they're company or someone they work for would be interested in supplying us with parts, services or cash, we'd welcome it. In return for help the company would recive entry to the competition, sticker space, website space, space on team wear and the possibility of the use of the car for promotional purposes. All depending on amounts. For more information on Formula Uclan please visit our website. For more information of Formula Student see the forumula student site. Thanks. Nic Rutherford Quote

Andy I'm pretty sure we've just paid up for our hosting, or at least we did in september... I'll check it out and see what the deal is, i'm sure next years team would be interested in anything you could offer them though... thanks. Nic Quote
I.S.M Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 Good luck with that. I offered my services here at Uni of Nottingham, but apparantley they run it as 4th year projects. luckily for me i aint doing my masters, Beng all the way!!!!!!!! Not offering a "motorsport degree" our lads will be relying on pure Mech knowledge - which is ok, but i reckon they needed someone with a bit of practical knowledge - ME! I May be driving it though. Thanks, I don't think i'm allowed to drive ours, i'm told my driving style is a bit too, erm, stylish shall we say... We've got ex karters and single seater racers that will do the job tho. Our degree is pretty much Mech eng, just all aimed at motorsports... If that makes any sense. Quote
JonnyBoy Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 Our degree is pretty much Mech eng, just all aimed at motorsports... If that makes any sense. i might have been able to cope with that...mech eng was far tooo dull for my liking. just grateful i ruptured a kidney skiing and had an excuse to get out of it best of luck. I was really interested in the Toniq-R concept that I havent heard about since toniq-r although.. looky looky Quote
