Hello,

Does anyone know of Uxbridge kitcars is a safe firm to buy a Westfield??

I am looking for something at the end of this year for about 5000/6000 pounds and I want it to take it to Holland beceause I live there and there are they very much higher in price and not much to find..

By Uxbridge they have good prices..

Hopefully I have put this message in the right place..

Thanks for the answers..

For that money you would be better off buying directly from the selling a dealer will always add something on for themselves.

Thanks. I know that a dealer allways want to have some money for himself but It is easier for me to go to a store where more cars standing for sale then drive through hole England to look at al the nice cars..

they've been around for many years,so that might give you a semi-safe answer.

If it's for the end of year 2005 dont you have lots of time to shop around ?

A dealer will not give you the best value for your money.

I would take a look at some web sites ( pistonheads , findit etc.) seems to be a buyers market atm.

I went and had a look at a car he had a few years back.

He runs his business from home and at the time had 3 Seven Replicas, so the choice may not be as big as you hoped. As Justin says, he has been around for a while so he must be doing something right.

Good luck with your search.

I bought a my Westie 8 weeks ago but was looking for the right one since Jan 04.

As pistonbroke mentioned there is www.pistonheads.com and www.findit.co.uk, you can always try www.fastroadandtrack.co.uk and www.autotrader.co.uk.

You could try 'Terry Nightingale' if he is still running.

I am sure a search of the archives should find something about him.

I seem to remember Terry Nightingale ceased trading about a year ago  :t-up:

Looked at Uxbridge kitcars about June last year.  He had a Westy and 2 tigers when we went down.  The cars shown on the Uxbridge Kitcars website were not the ones he had at home. I got the impression that the website shows cars that they sell from a showroom elsewhere, mechanically checked and with some form of warranty whereas the cars at his house are sold 'as is' (and hence a bit cheaper).

Spoke to him before I went down and he was happy to talk about what he had in arranged a suitable time for viewing (which he stuck to) so I cant complain from the contact I had with him.

As it happens we bought a car advertised on this website, the car was cheaper than Uxbridge but a better spec.  Got to talk to the seller (great chap and obviously put a lot into the build) and got lots of paperwork and other bits too.

Got my first one from him in 94. Nice enough, but as with all second hand car dealers be carefull. It was run by a Mr David Knight, and I think his brother also has a Kitcar buying and selling business.

He does buy them very cheap, and adds typically £1000-£1500 on the price, but he wont touch anything that is very specialised. So expect clean cars with carpets and weather gear and mild tuned engines. The fact that he buys so many and sells them I would suggest is testimony to his skills that he knows how to buy a Westfield and what sells.

The showroom is a friend of his down the road, with much higher sticker prices, but you will not pay this amount.
