Help with resetting car stereo

Recommended Posts

Posted

Fiddling about in my bus and blew the fuse to the stereo, now it lights up but flashes defiantly if you try and use it. I guess it needs a code or some special button pressing combo.

I've googled with no luck, anyone know where to look for these things.

It's a Sony CDX-2500R.

If it's the original stereo then the manufacturer/supplier should have given you the code - is it listed in the owners handbook?

If it's an aftermarket jobbie I have no idea - Sorry  :(

Sony does not have codes so I would suggest looking on the front for a small hole to take a pin it will be a reset button (If Fitted)

If no change throw it away and buy a new one!!

Sorry Barry but most higher end newer sony units are indeed coded, some are easy to code and later models ones only available with specialist equipment

Tried the reset button.

Not standard fit, but as Fishers are sooooo much lighter and quicker than Westfields I thought I could spare a few kg...

If I can't get it working you can have it for the Trev if you like Mr Bin, another bit that doesn't work will fit in just right.  ;)  :p
