wookie Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 I'm looking for a pop up gazebo waterproof & sturdy and not blow away down the road!, looking to use one on a hard standing, anyone got advice on a good brand, looking for one about 3m sq with the detachable side panels. Many thanks in advance. Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 Wookie I got mine from Towsures in Sheffield £150 with the side screens same contstruction as a eazi-up but because I bought from a caravan shop there wasn't bthe usual 50% motorsport mark up involved Clicky, clicky Don't tell Paul Hurdsfield about this site Buzz Quote

Mark Stanton Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 That one on e-bay is crap - you can get them for £19.99 from Aldi's etc they're just tent pole things that push together I got a green one like Buzz's from Towsure - much betterer Quote
wookie Posted February 8, 2005 Author Posted February 8, 2005 cool, was looking on there to see whats about, i'll put my name down then on the waiting list!, cheers for your help guys. Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 Wookie With these things its worth taking time and having a look at the contstruction as well as the gauge of the metal used. The one I bought from towsures is pretty good altho' I still tie it down to be on the safe side, cos' once a gust of wind gets a grip, you could end up in Northern France with your gazebo! Well thats if the RAF don't shoot you down!. I spent around £30 on one and it was ****e. I used it for the 1st time at Harewood a couple of years a go. We had a thunder storm. The gazebo was hit by lighting and Ade Terry who was holding it down at the time trying to stop it blowing away He wasn't impressed. The thing was knacked after that mainly due to the wind not the lightening strike; which was extremmely funny altho @ Ade didn't think so! he looked a bit chard!! Buzz Quote
wookie Posted February 8, 2005 Author Posted February 8, 2005 best fit an earthing strap then just incase! Quote
DickieB Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 Buzz The RAF haven't shot anything down since Korea in the 1950s. (well, except for one of their own in the 1980s, but I'm sure that was a mistake) Dickie Quote
