chris_p Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 I imported my present car (MG-TF)...girly i know!!! I got it through motorpoint in derby. Saved £4k on the purchase price. 1 year warranty - even though MG were offering 3 years for all models registered in the UK in 2003..... As soon as I bought it I headed down the local MG\Roverdealer and said it was first registered in the UK in 2003, and they automatically gave me the extra 2 years warranty, gave it a full check over.... replaced a few bits they said were soon to be on recall, gave me a hire car whilst they were doing the work........MG what a service! YouMustBeJoking Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 Local Ford dealer "We can offer you £300 for your old Volvo against that Focus... but.... tell you what... to save me trouble... I will reduce the price by £300 if you keep the Volvo." Which is exactly what we did for a further 18 months of free motoring. Quote
the bear Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 We are going through the same at the moment, two dealers from the same franchise in two different towns offering differing prices for the same spec new car and stating different delivery dates. The local one has also offered £8k on a 2002 Golf 150 PD TD GTI with 22k on the clock. The other dealer offered £9k against my car with exactly the same purchase date and spec, the only difference between the two cars is mine is in worse condition and has done twice as many miles. Go figure Oh yeah forgot to mention the servicing 40k service both franchised dealers working from the now famous VW menu pricing Town 20 miles away £246 Home town £356 Same car remember, explanation parts cost more, answer dont talk crap. Next explanation they have not quoted the correct time for the job, answer your still talking crap. Real reason 50% higher labour rate. However, and this is the best bit, on production of the quote from 20 miles away, the t@@sers in home town matched the price Go figure Quote
