injidup Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 Cameras Hi all, I fancy putting a camera on my Westfield when I do track days. Can anyone recommend a good camera (or cameras for different angles)? Also is there anything I should watch out for when I actually get one on the car? Is that better, Eccentric Rich? I 8 it 2, btw. Don't they teach grammar at schools these days? Kev. (Looking a bit eccentric myself! Quote

steppenwolf Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 Hey, no one has answered his question .... The simplest method is to install a standard video camera on a mount suspended under the roll bar. Suitable mounts are available on the internet for about £90.00 or you can make one yourself with a bit of ingenuity using wood and a plinth with a 1/4" Whitworth bolt through it to couple with the tripod mount on the base of the camera. The important thing is to make darn sure that you also have a failsafe system of secondary attachment to the camera to ensure that in the event of an accident, the camera cannot fly forwards and hit you!
