MartT Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 always fancied a GT6. Had a few Spitfires and the car before the Westie was a TR6. I guess you must be a youngster if you have insurance probs! Does your GT6 policy have 3rd party cover for other cars? Martin Quote
scruffythefirst Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Do you have to quote that you have a turbo on an insurance policy Darren I think only if its a non standard item on the car (or just the engine?) Quote
darren.cudd Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 they were more than happy to qoute him on a 2.0ltr 220bhp cosworth turbo. Do you have to quote that you have a turbo on an insurance policy Darren yep told them 3 times and they said it didnt matter as long as it was 2000cc and was standard. Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 so, been looking for quotes for me to drive the Westy. MSM want £1100 on my Dads policy, limited to 3000 miles a year. What a jip! And, FJ wont let me have above 1600cc. Thats nice, i cant drive a 108 bhp Pinto'd SE, but i can drive a 140bhp Megabusa. what the devil?! Its daft, I currently drive a more expensive, bigger engined, more powered RWD swing spring car which will make a huge mess out of any euro box. But i cant drive the ickle Westy! Who thinks this crap up?! Its your own fault for being a spotty yufff!! Buzz Quote

Jan Coombes Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 My advice is tell them everything, there get out of anything if they can dam insurance, (not the nice brokers mind) If you can get it agreed value. Other wise you will get market value of your car the year it was built. So in my case, one of my cars was orignal built in 89, so I would get the market cost of a 1989 westfield (£3000), I'd not be happy. So I send them 4 photos in with a full spec list and what I think it's 2nd hand values is, they say OK in wrighting, boom insured for £16000. Had to get a cat2 imb (£100) and my policy was about £300. Get the cheepest price but the right cover. Quote
