We have been using the Reanult 1.9 and 1.5's in Almeras Micras and Primeras for 2 years now never such a problem reported.

So that being the case,would you say a Nissan Primestar van is a safer bet than a Ren Traffic and is there any difference? :suspect:

arn't they the same van with different badges on ?

where i work we have had a number of volvo s/v40's which use the renault 1.9 diesel do this but not had any go bang yet - just smoke loads  :D

Runaway diesels need air, blank off and it should stop eventually, also block the exhaust to prevent the vacuum/ingress of air

I think they are but looks like the quality control at Nissan is better than Renault.That said i had a Traffic which was ok mostly!

would have thought if they were the same van they would be made at the same plant with different badges and tho odd fitting change

therefore there should be very little difference in the standards of the two
