PhilH Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 We have been using the Reanult 1.9 and 1.5's in Almeras Micras and Primeras for 2 years now never such a problem reported. So that being the case, would you say a Nissan Primestar van is a safer bet than a Ren Traffic and is there any difference? Quote
Nick A Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 arn't they the same van with different badges on ? where i work we have had a number of volvo s/v40's which use the renault 1.9 diesel do this but not had any go bang yet - just smoke loads Quote
hilux Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 Runaway diesels need air, blank off and it should stop eventually, also block the exhaust to prevent the vacuum/ingress of air FWIW Quote
PhilH Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 arn't they the same van with different badges on ? I think they are but looks like the quality control at Nissan is better than Renault. That said i had a Traffic which was ok mostly! Quote
Nick A Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 would have thought if they were the same van they would be made at the same plant with different badges and tho odd fitting change therefore there should be very little difference in the standards of the two Quote
