Works very similarly to the well known "optimate" battery conditioner but at a quarter of the cost as you wire it into your existing battery charger. You then connect your charger onto your battery and leave permanently on, it monitiors the voltage and constantly keeps it topped up between the range of 13 - 14.2 volts. Ideal for maintaining battery conditon during the winter lay up. I've had one for a year and they work very,very well. £10 each inc postage.
