Vauxhall 2.0L 16V XE RED TOP

I have a Vauxhall 2.0L 16V XE Red Top Engine for sale.  Photos on ebay.

I bought this engine with plans to re condition it and replace my 1600 X/Flow as I was fedup with Scoobydoos passing me on the straight at Knockhill.  After a few posts on the WSCC forums you all convinced me to buy Terry's engine, which leaves me with two problems.

1) I now have an engine I no longer need.

2) I have no money left to fit Terry's engine!!!!

Solution: Anyone interested in buying an XE for £300.  ( Not Terry's, before any of you jokers out there start suggesting it!!.

I know that Scotland is not local for the vast majority of you but I will be travelling down to Leeds next week if this is any help.

Would you be prepared to split the sump from the engine??

Is it a coscast head and whats the approx mileage?

No, not at present.  I need to shift the whole thing to get some space in the garage.  I may be able to source a big wing manta sump for you though.

If some one wants the engine and not fussy about the sump I'll let you know.

Buzz,

It's not a Coscast head. i.e it has a core plug on the rear end of the head.  See SBD Website for pictures.

As for milage.  Don't know.  When I bought it the guy told me it was over 90K but I have no way of verifying. I have had the cam cover and the cams look in good nick, it turns over and the belt looks ok but would need changing before run.

It's been sitting around in the garage for a while and the outside of the engine is pretty tatty and needs a rub down and lick of paint.

It was taken from a Manta or Ascona (can remember which) and was timed at 0-60 in 7.4 seconds.  The car now has a Rover V8 fitted!!
