ricdiggle Posted March 11, 2002 Posted March 11, 2002 Right gents/ladies, I need to learn what my car can do or more importantly what it can't do with me at the wheel. I don't want to prang it again when I get it back! Where can I go to act like a hooligan, make a lot of noise and leave my car in need of a new set of Yokos? I'm in Leicester. Is it possible to hire an airfield or anything like that? Does anyone have a really long and wide driveway? Do Mallory Park hire out the paddock on quiet days? The local Aldi Car park looks very tempting but I don't have a subwoofer in the Westfield. Any ideas very welcome. Thanking you. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted March 11, 2002 Posted March 11, 2002 There are a few of the Speed Series guys that regularly hire Curborough during the week to do some "practising" and testing - usually costs about £30 to £40 each dependant upon how many turn up. Shenstone & District Car Club organise some introduction to Sprinting courses at Curborough with instruction from experienced drivers. Again the price is extremely good value for money with lunch. The Institute of Advanced Motorists run skid pan courses in front and rear wheel drive cars at High Ercal in Shrops. If you need anymore on Midlands local stuff info drop me an e-mail. Quote
Westfields Rock On Posted March 11, 2002 Posted March 11, 2002 If your lookin for real cheap fun 25mins away come to Doncaster. we've just had a new 1/2 mile bridge built. @ 2100hrs week nights the boy racers come out to play and get beaten by the only westy in town. Its fun coz theres a set of lights right @ the foot of the bridge hehehhe its fun bye bye tyres Quote
Jon Murray Posted March 12, 2002 Posted March 12, 2002 Ric, If you fancy a blast up North and your car is ready in time, then there's Elvington Airfield day near York on 6th April. So far, 8 Westie's are either confirmed or provisionally booked via Bookatrack.com (you become a confirmed booking once they receive your payment). Fast becoming another Westie meet? Jon Quote
Peter Cox Posted March 12, 2002 Posted March 12, 2002 ditto Elvington - I'm going from Nottingham. Also, there's a trackday at Bruntingthorpe - mid may - I'll try and find more detail Quote
