Paul W
Can anybody recommend a repair centre around the Salisbury area Wilts, as somebody gave me an early Christmas present by driving into the back of me whilst I was waiting for the vehicle in front of me to turn to the right? The exterior body damage doesn’t look very bad, but the back wheels are visibly out of alignment and it drives terrible with a quarter of turn needed on the wheel to go straight as the other driver attempted to go around me so it wasn’t a square impact. The other car was not drivable which goes to show the strength of the Westfield, but do you think the chassis is bent and how can I check? Model is SEI Paul PS This is my first post so it’s not a very good way to start. I was also planning to use Christmas present money join the WSCC, but have no usable car now. Rob Navin
Paul. Hard luck !! As it will be on His insurance make sure that the car goes back either to Westfield or Playscool. I would also be asking for the car to be transported by the insurance company there ans back. These are the best people to deal with Chassis dammage on a Westy ( IMHO ) and I would not, and did not when I was in your situation, trust any one else to do the work on my car. Blatman
Welcome Paul. The only real solution is to get the car to Westfield themselves *No-one* else will have the jigs to measure the chassis, and to be honest, as a specialist vehicle, I wouldn't want anyone but Westfield anywhere near the chassis if it's bent, or even to measure it. As the accident isn't your fault, and as A Westfield is a specialist vehicle, the insurers really shouldn't quibble too hard about it (well they might, but insist. Don't take *any* crap off them...).,The insurers should pick up the bill for getting the car to the repairers and back again too. It really shouldn't be too much of a battle with them. It's just that insurers are generally a pain in the A***, so there'll be the usual hassles. Try not to get wound up, keep yourself focussed on getting the car repaired by the factory, and you should do OK.

perksy
Bad luck Paul. Car needs to go to Westfield (or similar) for Repair, If Rear of Chassis is Damaged significantly, it'll be a New chassis req'd. Depends on Insurer/Insured value etc as to whether it's a write-off if it's bad.... Been covered on here before and a search will reveal more. Why not start a thread on Cosworths being good engines and I'll disagree with you on it. It may throw evryone off the scent

pistonbroke
Hard luck Paul , what a lousy christmas present . Have you contacted your own insurer yet? make sure they understand the situation fully and that you do not intend to make claim on your own policy , as your insurers they should chase the 3rd party for all cost's ask if this will effect your no claim bonus . Hope you get it sorted soon
