Lordbenny Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 Possibly the best show on TV? I think so. Last nights episode was a petrolheads dream, Scagliatti racing to Switzerland against Laurel & Hardy...in a plane, GT40 vs Noble & The Stig taking an F1 Renault around the track. What more do you want on a Sunday night? Apart obviously, than a curry, a few pints of Fullers ESB & a couple of supermodels!!! Quote
Blatman Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 It wasn't the Stig driving the Renault, according to this... Quote
samcooke Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 the best show on TV Yup. But only cos the rest of the stuff is so rubbish. How many times can you race a car against a form of public transport or time something round a track? Same stuff every week. I love James May's journalism and am even prepared to admit Clarky has a certain appeal. But Top Gear is too lairy and too repetitive. Fine for maxxed up Subabishi driving 'petrolheads' but as a car enthusiast I very nearly went and did the washing up last night. Bring back Chris Goffey. Quote
Lordbenny Posted December 20, 2004 Author Posted December 20, 2004 Top Gear is too lairy Hey Sam, you know that 3 year old Rover 75 you've always been promising yourself? Well, the time has come! Quote
Rob Navin Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 Top Gear is too lairy Hey Sam, you know that 3 year old Rover 75 you've always been promising yourself? Well, the time has come! Oi watch it. I used to have a 3yr old 75 and I'm NOT old or dull. ( The rest of you can leave it as well ! ) They do make great tow cars for propper toys I thourght Top Gear was excelent last night, prime Sunday viewing...... Quote
8336 Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 Whilst Christmas shopping on Saturday ; I saw a summary, (can't remember if it was on a book or Vid) but It said Perry McCarthy is Stig John G Quote
Mark Stanton Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 but It said Perry McCarthy is Stig he was the original Stig - the one dressed in Black overalls from old series He might alos be the new white overalled Stig who knows Quote
pistonbroke Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 I reckon its a Clarkson send up for STooge IndisGuise or something . The whole show is very well stage managed , the real stars being the scriptwriters not the cars. Quote
greeny Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 Have heard rumours that the new Stig is Ben Collins. Not sure how true this is tho. Any one noticed how different the Stig's driving style is now? The new one spends more time going sideways than the old one... Quote
Enterpryse Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 My Monies on Perry McCarthy being the stig, or was the stig. Maybe its the same bloke anyway and they are covering they're tracks Quote
steppenwolf Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 Subabishi driving 'petrolheads' Ahh, that'll be me then ... Quote

samcooke Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Ahh, that'll be me then ... Really? Next thing you'll be telling me you're into caravans... The important part was maxxed up Subabishi Hey Sam, you know that 3 year old Rover 75 you've always been promising yourself? Well, the time has come! Not a chance. Test drove one, the ride was too hard and the interior too modern. Quote
