balsadoodle Posted January 1, 2005 Author Posted January 1, 2005 Missfire sorted! Thought I would let everyone know what it was; The Dellorto's were fitted with bell mouths and Pipercross "sock" type filters by previous owner. The fiters on the front carb were cut a bit too short; with less than the recommended 1" clearance from ent of bell mouth to inside face of the foam; (surprisingly?) this was sufficient to cause severe spluttering from as early as 4,500 rpm on. With the filter removed it now screams up to 6,500! and much stronger in the mid range. Long term fix will be some short bell mouths and new (longer! filter "socks". If anyone has any really short bell mouths to sell or is interested in exchanging for some nice 40mm ones let me know. Cheers Rob Quote
Neil Purdie Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 Sock thread. Short trumpets and shallow K+N filters fitted inside bonnet. Rally design if i remember correctly. Neil Quote
