Earlier this year a few of the Warks lads did the Heyford Academy day with MSE. One of the events during the course of the day was a "simple" auto test. Nothing more than 30-40 secs per run but was nevertheless immense fun.

Just wondering if this could be done within the club or does someone somewhere already run this kind of event?

Would this kind of thing, however small or simplified have to be registered with the MSA or can you just go out and get some cones and a patch of tarmac and get on with it?

Oh and have you seen the price of small traffic cones... 'kinnel!!

For a competitive autotest where any kind of award is presented and times recorded it does need to be MSA licensed  ;)  :D

So perhaps not as simple as grabbing some cones and use of tarmac.

Auto-test is quite a popular area of motorsport with a wide range of classes - The WSCC currently does not organise such events - that's not to say it won't - sadly we just don't have anyone with the experience or specialist knowledge       or do we  ???  ???

Auto-testing is very popular and I'm sure a web search would reveal loads of info and organisers details  :D  :D

The WSCC is a registered MSA club and as such all it's members may compete in an MSA licensed event  :D

You're probably better off asking a motor club that runs them already if they would run one for the club or let a group from WSCC enter one of their events.  If you do want to run one yourselves, ask a local club if you can borrow their cones.  I'm a member of Eastern Counties MC and we run 3 or 4 events a year in the Suffolk area.  Some of the Chelmsford/Suffolk/Norfolk WSCC members have done our events in the past as have the local Robin Hood owners.

Muttley.
