Depending on destination really.

For long haul try direct on airline's website - Virgin and BA both have good sites. I found that prices quoted there beat anything else, including their own call centres...  

You can also play about with departure days and see how price varies, and even choose your seat!

or any of the main UK airports now have links or flight searching facilities on their websites now.  Oh and they're all clients of ours ;-)

BAA use Expedia for flight searches, Manchester use www.atpi.com (www.atpi.com/manchesterairport to get to their rebadged site).

Manchester definitely do schedule flights with a change en route to Sofia for example.
