National Motorbike Museum

After the tragic fire last year, the museum has re-opened it's doors today, and has about 650 machines on show.

The damage done at the time was so bad it looked unlikely it would ever re-open, but they are now restoring the machines at a rate of about 1 a month.

The buildings have been enlarged, and inside the museum will look identical to the original displays, but they have bigger, better conference facilities.

Good news or what!

Apparently it was a discarded cigarette - I bet they don't tolerate smoking there any longer!

Have sprinklers been fitted now?

The reason they weren't fitted when the building was built the first time around was due to the fear that accidental discharge (ooops) would ruin the exhibits...

Oh isn't hindsight wonderful?

Very Good News... Hearing that it had burnt down made me kinda sad that I hadn't been for so long. Maybe time for another visit!
