Pinto Boy Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 After the second day of having to bail out the Westie before I could drive it I've decided to drill some drainage holes. Has anyone else done this? Is there any more to it that just drilling a few small holes? Quote
Mark Stanton Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 A hole or two in each cockpit ali floor are just fine Quote

mrblondie Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 ... on the weight saving train of thought .... ..... is it better to have lots of small holes ...or less bigger ones ????? Quote
Rob Navin Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 lots of big holes unless they are in load bearing areas Quote
oioi Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 actually i used this stuff for my panelling very light weight (lighter than carbon! and it also has very good drainage properties. can be draughty in winter tho hth OiOi ps I must cut my nails... Quote
Pinto Boy Posted November 29, 2004 Author Posted November 29, 2004 Is the floor panel actually load bearing - apart from me - and is a floor required for the MOT? It'd be a b******* if you drop something and might be a little distracting but also quite cool. Until the engine bay catches fire then it'll be quite hot Quote
Major Stare Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 You shouldnt have any problems cutting a few 6mm holes in you foot well. I have a couple under my seats with no problems. Quote
pistonbroke Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 There's something in the MOT regs about holes being within a certain distance of load bearing members ! Don't know if this applies to the Westfield Quote
