I don't get it

I didn't actually want £7k, I wanted £5k and, like the 924, it's a race car I MoTd so I thought it would be worth substantially more than a road car. I guess I was just lucky with the 924.

I'm going to put some Martini stripes and race wheels on it to distiguish it more from the boggo road cars and punt it about for £5k to see what happens. I'd have said that was reasonable for a 350bhp 1100kg car with proper race suspension and brakes. ???  :(

Thanks for the advice chaps.

hmm duno really, spec is ok but nothin special???  might be cause its striped out perhaps?:(  not many people look for a striped out saff, they tend to want them for the road or they tend to go 3door cossie for track cars:(

should be worth 5k though really as you have spent the money.  what hybrid turbo is it?   t3, t34,?  that will make a difference?:blues:

if its using a t3 then you will be lucky to see 330bhp using greens on a standard engine

are all the engine internals, pistons ect and head ports standard? :(

thing is with a track car the people who would want it are going to know about cossie engines and they always seem to expect fairly recently built engines :(

just trying to give you some ideas as to why it didnt sell not trying to talk the car down (as it may seem)

have you tried it on www.passionford.com?

It sounds a decent car and you shouldn't have a problem selling it, just advertise it via an appropriate medium. Ebay is for lazy buyers and lazy buyers don't buy cossy race cars. Joe public would probably have more faith in a porsche racer because of perceived trust in german reliability (yep i know its not logical) but a modified cosworth just sounds like the architype 'car to avoid at all costs'.

Show it to those who will appreciate it for what it is, there's still a strong market for your car. However I wouldn't muck about changing the paintwork (you'll further limit its appeal and you won't recoup the cost) just to sell it as it is.

It's a t34.

I think the Porsche just gave me unrealistic expectations of ebay. I'm going to fiddle with it a bit and then advertise it around properly.

Indeed. 924 Turbo is just about the least reliable car ever, Cossie is fine. Proves you can't trust the public to form a sensible opinion. :)

Thanks again.
