CrashBangWallop Posted August 13, 2003 Posted August 13, 2003 Good morning people, As I got my Westie pre-built/pre-owned I did not get a build manual with it. I was hoping if anyone has some fairly detailed prints of the car. Side, top, front, back are the main ones. I don't even need the figures as long as they are all in scale with one another. The reason being is that I am a 3D computer artist and would like to model a Westfield. I've taken pleny of photo's for the more intricate parts such as suspension but, without a good starting block it would be a struggle. Thanks for any help/images/links you may have. Cheers, Neil Quote
JonnyBoy Posted August 13, 2003 Posted August 13, 2003 create a model in pro/E, you can use isdx surface modelling and map the photo to create the 3D form. pop that into 3D studio and away you go - easy (well not really) and no...i dont have the time either Quote
CrashBangWallop Posted August 13, 2003 Author Posted August 13, 2003 I've got Alias Maya (NURB's and sub-div's) or 3DS Max (Pff!) to use. A correctly proprtioned image in each view panel is ideal. Unfortunately Suurland didn't have any Westfield blueprints :-( Do you mean something like this: - Photomodeler Quote
JonnyBoy Posted August 13, 2003 Posted August 13, 2003 this is the product i was referring too, however, that photomodeller looks pretty hot.PTC's ProE wildfire their surface modelling is isdx maybe try requesting some blueprints.....perhaps ISDX breaks into 4 views, and in each window you can upload pictures onto surface planes. from there you use freeform curves to plot out the 3d form...takes some time and concentration though. I wonder if you can fit a Westfield into any of the Rapid Prototyping laser plotters??!! Quote
Sideshow Bob Posted August 14, 2003 Posted August 14, 2003 Sorry can't help with any dimensions . But if you do get it modeled , any chance of a parasolid or stl format copy ? I have got (limited) access to a Rapid prototype machine (250mm x 200mm x 200mm) ,might be able to get a nice scale model made. Cheers Quote
CrashBangWallop Posted August 14, 2003 Author Posted August 14, 2003 Do you want a build manual then - SEiW? If anyone could scan in a profile and top-down view from the manual it would be enough to get me started. I've emailed Westfield. No reply as of yet. I'm hoping to get my car done first then, if anyone wants me to change bits to suit their car, I'll give it a go , any chance of a parasolid or stl format copy ? IGES is a definite. Don't know about the rest. Neil Quote
