Dual Circuit Master Cylinder/pedal box

Recommended Posts

As the title says, a Girling dual circuit master cylinder from my 1989 SE, which was working fine when it was removed.

On the cylinder, the number 2274660201 is cast in the side.

On the plastic tag, the number 2274066188 3 50/50 27ax (gawd knows what all that means, but it might mean something, to someone, somewhere...). Yours for 15 quid (20 non WSCC members).

Also available, top mount pedal box from the same-clutch, brake, and accelerator pedal. Comes with a fiberglass cover (in BRG). Yours for 20 quid (25 non-WSCC members).

Or the both for 30 (40 for non-WSCC members)...

The above articles are completely rust free, having been covered with a regular fine mist of oil since 1989 (xflow motor :D )

All +p&p.

Cheers, Stu. :t-up:

If this is a Westfield pedal box that sits to one side of the steering column, I'll take it...

Thanks anyway Stu.

Any chance of keeping me "in the loop" with what you do with the pedals on yer narrow. I'm still flailing around looking for a decent set of floor mounted's for mine, and the choice is underwhelming...

Blatters

Have a word with the rally deallers in Motering News.

Mick found me an AP ex Vauxhall BTCC pedal box that I fitted in mine from one of these guys for the right kind of money, just be a bit carfull as the master cylinders can set you back a fair bit.

Other wise have a look with at the Stuart Taylor ones that he fits to the Pheonix, that would have been my other choice.

I have been working with a company as I wanted a dual set-up that was a direct bolt-in unit for floor mounted pedals (I have a Megabusa). Here is a picture of the end result.  No modifications are required at all with this unit as it bolts to the Westfield studs and attaches to the standard pedal. It includes a dashboard adjuster, all the brake pipes, reservoirs, master cylinders, balance bar etc.  Since I have fitted this unit a few other people have been interested in getting one.  I could get a reduced price if a few are interested. The total cost would be around £180 with everything included - would be less without dashboard adjuster.

I have been extremely pleased with the unit. I hated the brakes before and now they are just superb and so easy to set-up correctly. No more locking the rear wheels before the fronts like with the standard set-up!!!

Before anyone asks, I am not at all connected with the company who manufactured it, just worked with them to manufacture a kit that would fit the Westfield. They said if I could get a few people interested they would manufacture some more.

If anyone wants some more info then email me and will send it through.

I think they might. As most of these new company's tend to start with the same size as the orginal L7,And usually they make a light weight BEC car It would be worth giving then a ring oioi
