PeterOz Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 I've had my car on the road for 6 months now and my road tax runs out at the end of this month. So, following on from an earlier thread, thought it might be good to find out how many people use their Westfields all year, and how many take them off the road for the winter. ?? Also, if you keep your car on the road through the winter, and assuming you're not one of those hardy (should that be foolhardy?) types who uses it everyday, how many times through the winter do you reckon you'd get to use it? thos Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Mine was off the road last winter for upgrades, and the same this year. Quote
taffy Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Keep it goin all year, Subject to upgrades etc! Rob Quote
oioi Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 i probably do about 2000-3000 miles between 1/10 and 31/3, as opposed to 6000-7000 in the other half of the year. I love blatting on those cold clear crisp winters day, when the engine seems so responsive from all that lovely cool dense air, the roads are empty and its a joy to drive. I would really miss the car if I couldnt drive it over the winter. Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 I run mine, on average, at least once a week all year - more in summer of course. I try to avoid the wet and salt, though. Quote
itguy Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Off the road this winter for upgraditis and some serious cleaning Quote
darren.cudd Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 taking mine off as dont want to crash it again:p Quote
adhawkins Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 I reckon I've driven my current Westfield at least once a month since I got it two years ago. It obviously gets more use in the summer months, but I try to get out in it at weekends over the winter whenever I can. Andy Quote
Boxerman33 Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 I've always wanted to take mine out to play in the snow but haven't had the opportunity as yet Quote

karlgurney Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 I've had my car on the road for 6 months now Same here Peter, is seems so much longer than that since we were at bicester getting that silly dvla check done, my tax also runs out at the end of the month, i will be declaring it SORN for one month as i'm out of the country, then when i get back it'll be put back on the road. I gonna buy some warm winter woolies and try and use it as much as possible. Karl Quote
studbuckle Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 This year i've taken mine off the road to do some small mods ready for a big touring year in 2005. Normally though i'd run it through the winter. There's nothing like a crisp winter morning to sharpen the senses Quote

JasonR Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Mine is going to be SORN this winter, will give me a chance to do a few upgrades I have been putting off for a while. Had it on the road last winter but didn't really use it that much. Quote
