Mark Purves
A group of us are going to the Ring in August. Anyone got any advice regards Ferry's, such as ground clearance whilst getting on and off. Also has anyone just turned up and bought ferry ticket on the day? Thanks
S8ight
dont think the tunnel is that much deare than the boat. the good thing on the tunnel is, if you fall asleep whilst sitting in the driving seat of your car, when you wake up it feels as if your car is moving can scare the s**t out of you but good fun at the same time
Blatman
Been across the channel on RoRo ferries run by P&O, Brittany Ferries, and the Super Seacat. No worries so far. You *can* get on to the upper decks, even though it may look like you can't, 'cos of the angle of the slope. Approach it at an angle, and you'll be fine. Also, look out for the truck tie down points on the lower decks. They look like steel mushrooms, and are very sturdy, but easy to miss. If you're still concerned about clearance, and you are carrying a passenger, tell them to get out.... Most ferry loaders know what they're doing though, so if you have any concerns, let them know before you drive on. Believe it or not, you won't be the first Se7en they've ever seen......... 7SE
Continental Car Tours can be a good source of cheap ferry tickets, they don't advertise the fact but they will sell tickets only. 01304 380244 Also try Alternative Promotions 01934 824138
