wrightster Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 does anyone know what the caterham 16" 5 spoke alloys are called , also any ideas if they would fit my 2000 seiw ? i am not a frequenter of blatchat so dont want to ask on there any ideas on were i can pick up a set reasonably priced .... thanks Quote
Blatman Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 Not sure what thery're called... They *should* fit a Westfield as long as they came from a De Dion car. Offsets are likely to be ET23, but I'll stand to be corrected. Best place to buy is Blatchat, or maybe Ebay... Quote
Nick M Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 Would they be "Prisoner" alloys ?? I expect the main place you'll find them would be on Blatchat so stop being such a big girl's blouse and go and ask then Quote
Blatman Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 No, I don't think so. The Prisoners were the ones with the sort of lattice work/zig zag pattern at the outer extremety of the wheel, IIRC. Not sure what the 5 spokers are called... Quote
Nick M Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 Could well be Edited to say - that's exactly what they are Also fitted to Caterham 21s by the look of things too. Plenty of adverts on Blatchat for HPC wheels. Quote
CateringVan Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Prisoners are definitely 15" Why do you want 16" wheels, the consensus on blatchat seems to be for 13" wheels and that 16" wheels are too big. I guess the same principles apply to westfields, ie taller tyre sidewalls give better ride and handling. Not that I'm an expert though..... Quote
Dracoro Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 16s look fine if they're the right style In the same way that 13s don't look right and too small unless they're the right style either. Quote
Mark Purves Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 16s look fine if they're the right style In the same way that 13s don't look right and too small unless they're the right style either Not really about looks though is it?? Quote
jbryan26 Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 Caterham only do one 16" wheel. It was fitted to the HPC model, but is doesn't really have a name. De Dion fitment only, so the PCD is correct and the offset is 19mm. It is very similar to the standard two gates manufactured wheel of similar appearance, but it is significantly lighter as it was engineered for the weight of a Seven, not the weght of a Mondeo. Quote
jbryan26 Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 NB the 'Prisoner' wheel is 6.5x15, ET13, and looks a bit like the steel wheels from an elan/s2 Lotus 7, with numerous triangular holes. Quote
wrightster Posted November 9, 2004 Author Posted November 9, 2004 i have found a set of these wheels would a 19mm offset be ok for a 2000 seiw westy ? thanks Quote
