derekandrewjones Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 Does anyone have a picture of a red westfield that has black front and rear wings? I have a red megablade and am thinking of replacing the rear wheel arches with black instead of red and would like to see what it looks like. Derek Quote
derekandrewjones Posted October 8, 2004 Author Posted October 8, 2004 good example thanks adam Question is whether these black rear arches would match well with carbon nose and front cycle wings? will the difference in black be too noticable as the rear arches in Cashy's picture are very shiny ? samcooke Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 If you were going to buy new arches it would prolly be cheaper (and definitely be sexier) to get your current ones carbon effect coated by Auto Effect (01869 363000 - Jeanette). The finish is great. Don't know about longevity yet but AFAIK they do the SVC/Westfield light pods etc. Quote
samcooke Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 Nah. Carbon effect = shiny and shiny = good. Quote
timd Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 But it doesn't even look like carbon... Why they don't just call it 'naff shiny black and grey checks' is beyond me! Quote
samcooke Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 call it 'naff shiny black and grey checks' I'd still buy it. Quote
Blatman Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 That at least explains why you bought a car that isn't a Westield I'm with Tim. Why pay for carbon effect, when actual carbon is better on sooooo many ways.... Quote
moomin Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 but AFAIK they do the SVC/Westfield light pods etc. Sam, clickity-click-click FWIW, I went carbon effect cos they were the right product at the right price for me at the time. It breaks up the acres of black a bit, and is very light and flexible. moom. Quote
Blatman Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 And just so's we're clear... There. I think we've laboured the point enough now... Quote
thos Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 A friend of mine reckons he could sand away a few layers of the fibreglass and put a carbon-fibre layer on top. Works out cheaper instead of taking a full mould. Is this just as bad as the fake carbon option ? Quote
