karlgurney Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 remote control I'm getting fed up with have 4 remote controls on the side of the sofa, has anyone had any experience with these. Karl Quote
adhawkins Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 I have a Mosaic, not sure if you can get them any more. Richer Sounds were selling them for about 40 quid when I got mine. The only downside with things like this is that you actually have to look at the remote. Normally you'll just 'feel' for the right key. You'd be surprised how much of a difference it makes. karlgurney Posted September 27, 2004 Author Posted September 27, 2004 Hi Andy, That true the thing i found appealing was the one touch programing saves having to use 2 remotes to put tv on and watch dvd. Karl Quote

Yeah, but they can be a bit of a pain to set up. Don't let me put you off, our Mosaic is really good. Just don't expect it to be the answer to all your problems Andy Quote
Nick M Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 I've got an older version and it's Eats batteries but means I only have one remote for TV, statellite box and DVD player. Quote
peterg Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 Yep, same as NickM, I have the older version without the 'velvet finish' and it eats batteries (we use rechargables in it) mostly 'cos every time one of the dogs sits next to the sofa it senses a movement and lights up the display to be honest we keep the original remotes on the side table and use them nearly as much as the Kameleon as they're quicker sometimes.... would be nice to have 'one for all' and it certainly can control just about anything you can throw at it but they're not always the perfect solution Quote
samcooke Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 Mine's the Sony one - older version of this http://www.sony.co.uk/ShowPro....AV3000T Agree with the feel thing, but I've replaced batteries in mine twice in four years. I wouldn't go back, but it's fapping hewge. Quote
karlgurney Posted September 28, 2004 Author Posted September 28, 2004 Cheers for the replies, i'm considering it but not conviced yet quite a heafty price for a remote, but they do have the added gadjet factor Quote
studbuckle Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 That true the thing i found appealing was the one touch programing saves having to use 2 remotes to put tv on and watch dvd. Lucky you.... What do I need to do? Turn on TV, Turn on DVD Turn on AV amp switch AV amp to DVD mode and turn it up flip flap on TV remote and press format button 3 times to get to 16:9 Mute tv which is three remotes and generally a fight over who presses what! gregh Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 I had one but sold it, due to the fact it needed new batteries almost monthly! Now have one of these, better tactile feel and much better battery life http://www.remotecentral.com/mx500/ Quote
