Luke_Eliasz Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 I've watched almost every race from this season of the British Touring Car Championship, i love it, the best motorsport around imo. So exciting, alot more exciting than boring F1 lol. Anyone else watch the action packed end of season race, where james thompson won the championship over yvan muller by one point. Quote
Dracoro Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Yeah, I like to watch a bit of the ol' banger racing on a sunday too LOL. Got a bit interesting near the end of the 3rd race when Plato pushed Muller into a bit of opposite lock action. Well held off by Muller one has to say. Quote
thos Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 The Muller/Plato tussles make good viewing alright. Quote
Crash Override Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 I must admit BTCC is a lot better than F1 for action and this years three race format has been particulary good. Not that big a fan of Thomo, but better him than fruit corner. Prefer to cheer on the local lads to me Matt Neal & Dan Eaves in the Team Dynamics Computeach Halfords Team. Plato's a good character aswell. I'd like to see a few more different manufacturers entering in or back in, bring back Volvo and Rickard Rydell. Quote
adhawkins Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Did anyone see the 'Touring Car Masters' race (or whatever it was called) on Motors TV? All the past championship winners and a few others in identical cars. It was a bit like dodgems at times! There were even a couple of guys took each other out while trying to catch the safety car... Blatman Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Taped it (well, Sky +ed it), so hopefully I'll get to watch it one night this week... Quote
starter Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Watched the races yesterday (and most of them this year) and thought it was great. Actually the TV doesn't give justice to just how committed these guys are. Really pleased that Thompson managed to do just enough and take it by the single point. Thought Plato made a good return and Huff did well in his first season. MikeW Quote
Paul M Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Yes, I saw the masters on Motors Tv, superb race. Top marks to Jason Plato for a superb season, Seat were only aiming for a few podiums this season, Plato won 7 races ( I think his team mate won 2), Plato finished third in the championship, plus he's a nice guy and a bit of a charcter, not bad for Seat's first season, they also supplied all the cars for the masters race. samcooke Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 BTCC annoys me. Rob Huff was in my school year, lived 200 yards round the corner. When he was off go karting and circuit racing my mum was busy telling me motorsport wouldn't take me anywhere and I needed to get good GCSEs. Now he has a flat in Monaco and a paid works drive and I have a nice office job with a pension scheme. Liked the Aussie commentator on the masters race - proper enthusiasm for the sport Quote
darthurs Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 It took me 1hr 30mins to get there from Bolton, and then 1hr 45mins to get from the M1 into the circuit. Not very impressed with the traffic management. Missed the first few races because of it. But once I was in had a great time. Dan Quote
