Nick.Petty Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 It has been hissing it down here in Winchester. Just filling up me tintop about 10:30pm when a Cateringvan pulls in, aeroscreen, soaking wet filthy etc... Chap is returning to CAMBRIDGE after visiting his missus who is local to me. The 7 is his only car. Regularly does this trip, rain or shine, night or day. All I can say is respect to you sir, I like your style. Birtwhistle or something was the name, says he meets with Westies and Strikers Cambridge area somewhere? Nicko Quote
Blatman Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 He's a bit of a regular on Blatchat too. I think he's a Cam7 'er too... Quote
moomin Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Ah bless Birtys cotton socks... he gets about a bit. His car lives on my drive at the moment - he was off again this morning at half seven, probably to his office near Newark. moomin Quote
moomin Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 he was off again this morning at half seven and promptly got stuck on a roadblocked A14 for a few hours. moomin Quote
Alex Birtwisle Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Hello all. My first time here so be nice to me! Twas nice to meet you Nick. You did seem a tad shocked that there was someone mad enough to use an aeroscreened seven as their only car. The rain had mostly stopped by the time I got the the M25 so there was a good 80 odd miles of "drying time" before I got home. Done nearly 21000 miles in her this year. It is the only way to drive. Moom', I got horribly stuck. At least it was sunny! Cheers Alex Quote
Nick.Petty Posted September 15, 2004 Author Posted September 15, 2004 Alex, what happens when you have to take SWMBO out on a 'date'..... Does she wear her posh frock in the Cat or a full race suit with the frock in a bag to change into??? Sorry to hear you got stuck yesterday - I was up that way on business but managed to avoid it, it sounded nasty. Nicko Quote
Alex Birtwisle Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Hi Nick, One has to chose ones female company carefully There aren't many girls out there with Nomex III Evening Wear now are there? I seem to have a thing for Jams at the moment. It took me 4 hours to get to Winchester last week because the M25 was closed Will have to let you know when next I am down, and go for a blat. There are some fine roads in Winchestershire. Alex Quote
Blatman Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 2 posts in quick succession from Mr B What's the betting that if I check, Blatchat is down? *Opens new browswer window* *Tries Blatchat* *Gets one of Barry's best "Sorry, Blatchat is down" messages ever*... felters Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 There aren't many girls out there with Nomex III Evening Wear now are there? Most of my girlfriends seemed to wear little else Especially the long term ones - ie those that agreed to a second date Quote
