This is going to be deep.

My Father, he has alzheimers and the last time I spoke to him when I know he understood and could remember and what he said back meant anything was nearly two years ago. Ten minutes and I could explain why he is where he is and its not that we dont care.............

Sorry sometimes it is just good to talk about it even on an open forum such as this

On a lighter note Spike Milligan for all his experiences and his unique sense of humour.

I asked the missus - she said she'd have her chat with me - Seems we don't communicate :D:D:D

Assuming it could be anyone dead or alive - I guess this conversation could take place at any point in history too?

Just who would we tip off?

My conversation would have to be with my dad I guess - he's missed a lot since he died in 1988.   If it had to be with someone famous, General Haig to tell him he was a complete @rsehole!

I would really like a chat with Noah.......I can get my head round the building of the ark....but, then God told him to paint the whole thing with tar/pitch, so how did he paint the underneath of such a big thing as that? and if it was on huge supports of some kind what about the bits covered by the supports? ........answers on a postcard to......

Some good responses the bears answer is one of my favorites, its funny that through our lives we take so much for granted including our time on this planet we dont know how long we or those we are close to have but we take it for granted all the same. It amazes me that we dont enjoy the simple things in life as much as we should each others company and conversations.

I once had a customer who wished to purchase a ring for his wife the man was a plesure to talk to he was jovial happy and full of life I asked why he wished to purchase the ring and he told me it was too thank her for her support and love she had given him all through his life and his carrer, he explained that he was a long distance runner and had won races all over the world he then told me that he had to give up his carrera as he had been recentley diagnosed with cancer and had been given two months two live I expresed my sympathey and he said " thank you but that isnt nessecery ive never lived as much as I am now"

I hounestley belive that people who are given the most horrible news such as this also have the ability to look at the world in a unique way that the rest of us ignore for instance when you are no longer have the ability to talk to someone such as "the bear" sudenley that ten minutes could be the most important of your life.

Thanks for sharing

no, an attractive female who isnt affraid to go out with me.

That would somewhat narrow the field! What about a job on a female psychiatric unit, you might have 1/2 a chance :p

and if it was on huge supports of some kind what about the bits covered by the supports?

answer: After doing most of the hull, you add another support nearby, remove the support - they call 'em props in the boating world - then just paint (or in modern parlance, anti-foul) the bottom. For smaller boats a roller like you use on walls and ceilings is used, for larger ships they spray them  ;)  :t-up:  :D

I've stayed out of this one so far cos' there's only one person I would like to talk to from history for 10 mins. But now that we're getting deep I'll tell you.

Its me mam, she died when I was 13 and there's so many things I'd like to have said but I was too young and didnt really understand or know what to say............................
