Conrod Bolts

Whilst my sump is off and the engine is on the stand (2.0 zetec) is it worth replacing the conrod bolts ?

My engine is in standard trim at the moment and i will more than likely be running the standard injection system for a while in order to get thru the sva (1998 engine)

What kind of bhp level would stress the bolts enough to warrant definatley replacing them.

 YES

Arrow pressision have ARP bolts for your engine as do Burtons and others

Agreed.

BHP/rev limit issues aside, it's a worthwhile thing to do now, 'cos if you *ever* decide to go for more power later, you'll know for sure that you have the right bolts in there...

I've got a set of ARP bolts, unused and still unopened, for a cossie if anyone wants to buy them.  I went with the standard bolts in the end.

I decided that it is a good idea to replace the bolts, but ive also decided to run the engine completely standard in order to get thru sva etc and get the car on the road, after its finished im going to make my next project to build another engine with more bhp and new conrod bolts :D:D:D:D:D:D:D
