Steve L Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Today my 1991 Westfield SE passed the German TUV, the technical exam. Tomorrow I can register it. In Germany, the first two letters are determined by the city. In my case BS for Brunswick. In my area, the rest of the number must consist of exactly two letters followed by two or three numbers. My original idea was "BS GO 7", but I have to have two numbers. I don't like "GO 77" because there is a Seven-Replica builder here called VM 77, and I don't want people to think I have a VM. Anyone have any other suggestions? Tonight is the deadline. Thanks for your ideas. Quote
Blatman Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 GO WE 57 = GO WEST..... and yes, I realise there is a band of that name.... GO WE 577 = obvious.... GO SE 736 = GO SE7EN... sort of... a couple of strategically place bolts would help GO SE 17 = GO SEi 7 or GO SE 1.7 GO SE 20 if you have a 2.0l... GO SE 120 = GO SEi 20 again for a 2.0l SEi... GO WI 037 = GO WIDE 7 if you have a wide.... Customers are now getting in the way... Back later Quote
predawson Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Not much help to you but I always wanted 'bye bye' as number plate for my Westfield. Quote

Steve L Posted September 6, 2004 Author Posted September 6, 2004 AND THE WINNER IS... BS GO 4 7 Came from a German Forum, so I expect Germans will understand it. Took my first ride yesterday. Didn't test the limits as I did not want the limit to be a tree or a guard rail on the first day, but tried out simple straight-line acceleration. A companion kept an eye on the speedo and used a hand-held stopwatch, so it is probably not too accurate. 100 kmh is about 61 mph. And the speedo probably indicates a higher speed than actual. With these caveats, I claim 0-100 in 5.8 seconds. Don't imagine that will win any prizes, but it is the best acceleration that I have ever had in a car of my own. Steve PS: For various reasons, I didn't get to register the car until Friday, instead of Wednesday, as planned. Therefore the delay in this posting. Quote
