cast iron Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Witnessed live F1 yesterday. Loads of overtaking, some dodgy manouveres with no fist shaking. Williams and Mclaren did pretty well..............and The BRM wasnt too bad either Went to Donington to see the Euro Boss - F1 Classics and Le mans 80's cars What was bizzare though. The Le mans C types, silk cut Jags etc had 2 x 40 minute races, now considering they are supposed to be 24Hr Le Mans cars, half of them broke down in each race Whats going on? Quote
Blatman Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Lack of works expertise in the prep, plain and simple... IMHO of course... Quote
Mark Stanton Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 half of them broke down in each race Whats going on? The guys that now run them have nothing like the budget that was being spent on the cars when they were Le Mans cars In fact there wouldn't be very much of the truly "original" components left in them 24 hour marathon engines and gearboxes are different to those used for shorter races Quote
