Westfield experience

Hi

After selling my Subaru Impreza a few months back I'm now looking for something else to have some fun in :p

Probably looking at a bike engined Westfield as I own a Fireblade just now.

I'm booked up for the Westfield experience on Tuesday, who's done this? and what can I expect from my visit to the factory?

Thanks

Never done it myself, but I think you'll get a tour of the factory, probably followed by a test drive.

Make sure you take your driving licence :)

Let us know how you get on. Aberdeenshire is a long way from the factory!

I didnt think the factory made megablades anymore?

If you come down why not come and have a look at my blade which is currently for sale.

Im around 30 miles form the factory.

Yeah Aberdeenshire is a long way from the factory, Around 480 miles  :bangshead:

Cashy, Had a look at your megablade on the site last night and its a stunning motor. Can't afford to buy a new one just yet but would still like to have a look. I should be down there late Monday afternoon and coming back home on Tuesday. Let me know if I can meet up with you sometime then.

Yes, I have done the factory tour.

Format is: sales pitch (low key)/briefing/test drive (on your own but supposedly over a prescribed route of about 20 mins)/factory tour (impressive)/intro to tech-service (impressive)/final sales pitch.

When I did mine the demo was a Zetec engined wide-body.

You will need your driving licence.

Unfortunately, the prices of the second hand cars on offer at the factory convinced me that I couldn't afford a Westy (nothing under about £16k, several over £20k)  --  so I went elsewhere. Subsequent membership of this forum has taught me that I certainly could have got a Westy for my money.

yep i did the tour.a few years ago though.i test drove a seiw with a 1600cc cvh engine.

well worth doing,as you get to meet the people you will later speak to by phone.good friendly bunch of people.and unlike a lot of car dealers.(didnt know what else to call them)they actually know what they are talking about.very helpful.

even down to the MD chris.really friendly/helpful and actually takes the time to speak to you.

oh! and holly was good too.kept the coffee girl busy.

if you have any questions it might be worth writing them down before you go.i had loads to ask but forgot most of it when i went.

Well thats me just back from the Factory visit and I'm hooked :p Was shown around the factory and got  lots of very helpfully info about the different types and also about building them, they really do know what they are talking about. I got let loose in a 2.0 Duratec powered one and that was enough to make me want one. The roads on the test route were a wee bit busy but still had a good bit of fun in it. The whole tour and test drive took around an hour and a half and well worth it even if it was a 1050 mile round trip for me.

Ended up buying a construction manual for the Megablade so may well own one sooner than I thought :t-up:

Membership form downloaded and on its way ;):D

Probably wont be able to afford a kit until next year sometime  but hopefully by then should have made my mind up which one to go for, and should have learnt enough off here to make building one trouble free

Thanks
