CrashBangWallop Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Good evening people, I stupidly forgot about my car's MOT (thought it was next month ) and the rubber hood on my front-right upper joint is split. I phoned Westfield and my area AO who both said I needed a Transit Draglink Joint. However, there seemed to be a multitude of variations based around make, age, length, thread direction. Can anyone give me exactly what type I need to order, please. I should be able to make it to the Ford part dept. in the morning before the MOT. It won't be fitted but, least I'll show willlingness. I've a factory-built SEiW 1998 Thanks a million, Neil While you're here, as a poll, what do you think...? FAIL or PASS ?? Quote

7SE Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 If you are able to get one from a Ford parts dept on a Saturday morning, then you are doing well ! I can't tell you which Transit it is from, except that it is an early model, too early to appear on the parts computer. They will have to go and dig the microfiches out. The computer only goes back as far as 1985, on that, and subsequent models, the thread pitch is M16. On the one that you want the thread pitch is M18 x 1.5 (fine) - which may help you with identification. A quick search suggests 1977-84 Transit - You might confirm that if you are sucessful. A thought: Why not fit new rubber boots? Quote
CrashBangWallop Posted August 28, 2004 Author Posted August 28, 2004 7SE, apparently, I can't change the rubber boots as the unit comes as a complete thing. Unless someone else knows otherwise? It's probably a 15p bit of rubber but, i have to spend 8 quid'ish on a whole end. Typical but, not extortionate! Quote
lloydie33 Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 I think Lolocost sell the one you want for £5 each. try here: Lolocost better late than.... Lloydie Quote
