Sprint virgin

Hi, I've entered into a charity runway run at Brize this coming weekend, basically 3x 1/4 mile sprints then three blasts down a 2 1/2 mile runway  :D ,  I've got a basic set up 2l pinto with twin 45's,14" wheels with a windscreen weighing 570kgs, i've had it rolling road tested about 130bhp, not hoping for great results but what would be a good time to get, its all good fun and for charity mate  ;)

I think so it's not that well organised this year from what i've heard. Its an event organised by the Brize norton bike club. The guys in the car club are gonna try and organise one just for cars soon (but thats suposed to be a secret ;) ), i will try and stick my nose in and get some places for WSCC members if it happens.  Apparently you can book the runs on the day, £20 for 3 runs, you would have to bring 2 forms of id with you so we could get you past the monkeys on the main gate :D

Karl, have a look at Ian Crocker's site here look under Performance - there isn't really a comparable car to yours but it'll give you something to aim at - I'd guess you'd be looking at somewhere between mid-14's and mid-15's and 80-90mph depending on your technique  :suspect: have fun and report back how you get on  ;)

I don't want to put a dampener on it Karl, if you are a 'sprint virgin' I suggest forget the times don't become a 'space cadet' concentrate on getting the car to the finish and in one piece. Drive as hard as YOU feel safe,As Peterg suggests Enjoy it and remember you ain't competing for the world championship.

The Westfield will look quick anyway especialy against run-of-the-mill hot hatch road cars.Plus you would be so disappointed if you had to take the car home knackered on the back of a trailer

That would be my advise at this early stage of ya sprinting career.

Eating curry whilst having a dose of the squits will do you no good at all  :D  :D  :D    :D even if it is one of those extra mild wussie southern ones  :D    :D    :D

Well, if you were in Swindon already, all you had to do was pop up the A419 / A417 :)

Maybe next month...
