I prefer McAffee, and mine and many other companies implement it as standard practice but rather than recommending that I'm more inclined to suggest you buy anything BUT Norton.

I have Norton installed and it works fine, BUT only because I use some work arounds for certain issues that it throws up. It also seems to clash with Zone Alarm on occasion, which is a pain in the A***, large style...

*When* I'm forced to re-new what I have, it'll be McAffee that replaces it...

I'm on Win98SE though...

Eh? Did they have windows that long ago?? :p:D:D

Nothing "special" about 98SE...

etc etc... ;):D

Yeah yeah. I'm sticking with it 'cos I have it running nice and stable, and with an older version of IE, no-ones writing virus' for it anymore.

I have Win2000 and XP Pro on discs sat in front of me, but at the moment, there's no point...

Nobody is writing programs for it now, let alone viruses... :p

And another thing... If nobody is writing viruses for 98SE then what's the point in having an opinion on AV software - it's never gonna get used!! :p:D:D;)

Edit:

PS. Yes, I am bored...  ;)

I guess that Honda isn't as exciting as the dealer promised :devil:

Nope - and I told him that on the test drive... ;) For some reason he was under the impression that 9000rpm was something special.. ???:D

It does, however have a nice leccy hood.. :t-up::p

Have you uninstalled your AV software now then - seeing as "nobody" writes viruses for SE??:devil:;)

No, because it still guards against the ones that are still out there that may cause problems.

In fact, I did a full system scan last week, and found 3 virii lurking on my machine which had made it past both Norton and Zone Alarm. They weren't causing me any problems and as I don't use Outlook to store any e-mail addresses, it they weren't going out anywhere either. I was surprised though... I guess nothing is foolproof to a suitably talented fool :D
