Peter Cox Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Drive backwards? Drive with your head under the scuttle?
Rob Navin Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Taffy. I think your on to a winner. I do think that the advantages should be limited to ivory cars driven by Rob though. As such when you get one made in carbon I will take one off your hands. Why has no one discovered this before, I feel daft over looking it
Turbo Tommo Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 I think when you take one off your hand, I feel daft Can't argue with that!!
taffy Posted August 13, 2004 Author Posted August 13, 2004 Why has no one discovered this before, I feel daft over looking it Need you say more? Rob
Mark Purves Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 Taffy, someone who is a aerodynamacists has responded with the following to your original question. i think his general statement about reducing buffet is correct but i dont think it will reduce the drag
taffy Posted August 13, 2004 Author Posted August 13, 2004 i think his general statement about reducing buffet is correct but i dont think it will reduce the drag Hi Mark, Dont think the attachment came through Can you redoo? Rob
Mark Purves Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 i think his general statement about reducing buffet is correct but i dont think it will reduce the drag Rob the above quote was all that he sent via e-mail to me. Also he should know what he is talking about, as he finished in top 3 after exams etc. Sorry Mark
taffy Posted August 13, 2004 Author Posted August 13, 2004 Cheers Mark, Just pausing for a moment from the very complicated and frantic mid season development work going on at the Taffarina design studio I actually think we can reduce the buffeting, by some sort of "spoiler" before the Windshield. I agree with the point about drag, but that may not be too much of an issue with us "Tourists". Maybee the young man can offer some more of his ideas on this subject. I would be interested to learn more! Cheers mate Rob
peterg Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 Still can't see how it would reduce a buffet if you ADD plates
taffy Posted August 13, 2004 Author Posted August 13, 2004 Still can't see how it would reduce a buffet if you ADD plates Oh no, not plates again Rob
peterg Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 FWIW my rear wing served as an excellent tea tray when the Surrey Area came round the house to see the racecar - we got 19 mugs on it AND a plate of biscuits! I think the mugs would increase the drag a bit though
Mark Purves Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 My wing and boot box cover serve as a great table on club meet night. However people following find the glass a bit of a problem.
Mark Stanton Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 reduce a buffet I know how to do that If you let the Lardy Libre SS Faction know where and when we'll reduce your buffet no problems Where's Mr Navin and his Lunch Control
neilwillis Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 No, before you say anything, I dont know why I posted this in Parts wanted! I thought that was a ploy to keep this radical new development a secret from the techies! Willow pattern, or something with flowers on it do you reckon taffy?
