CrashBangWallop Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 Afternoon people, I know it's a bit of a weird question but, is there anything that will ease the removal of the glue residue left behind after peeling off all the velcro strips from my aluminium panels (other than soap & water and elbow grease) ? I don't particularly want to start scrubbing it with a Brillo-pad or wire wool. It's strong stuff! Thanks, Neil Quote
Enterpryse Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 Good Question !! I used a little Gunk then alcohol and some brillo. Not that thats the easiest way LOL Shame the rain water lifts the material only to leave the sticky stuff, next time I'm super glueing the velcro on. Quote
Eccentric_Rich Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 Cellulose paint thinners will get the job done. Richard. Quote
ChrisF Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 White Spirit.....ideal for cleaning and removing this kind of deposit, as long as it wasn't stuck on with Araldite or Super Glue, in which case you have got a problem. Quote
mb893 Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 White Spirit Cheap, a bit smelly but does the job. Quote
mike m Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 WD40 is also very good at removing sticky bits and stains , and no probs with thinners or w/spirit getting places it shouldnt be Mike Quote
