adhawkins Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 Ford Mondeo drivers, pre-programmed to stay in outside lane of motorway regardless of how close behind them you get or how many times you flash... Oi, watch it... I've only had mine 2 days, not been on my 'annoying twonk' driving course yet I think it's at the same place they send Technical Directors to learn their 'art'. Andy Quote
AndrewMc Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 And of course 4x4's and anything driven by really old people very slowly.. And Tractors... And HGV's... in outside lane of a dual carriageway! Quote
JonnyBoy Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 Do other cars raise peoples emotions as much i wonder? After I passed my test, I was (very fortuneately) allowed to drive 'daddys' Jag XJ6 4l. Instead of how people react to beemers, at many junctions I would get a friendly wave and allowed to go first. used to make me chuckle when i a 17 year old with a beaming grin waved thanks at them! come to think of it, it was even funnier with L-plates on Quote
scruffythefirst Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 another wasted joke I wasn't sure which of the two possible jokes that could mean you meant so didn't want to comment in case i looked stupid.... Quote
pistonbroke Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 Ford Mondeo drivers, pre-programmed to stay in outside lane of motorway regardless of how close behind them you get or how many times you flash Probably me! I can't stand TIT heads who flash there headlights expecting everyone on the m'way to move out the way . Get in the Q boy Quote
JonnyBoy Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 if its just you in the outside lane with no other cars in front of you or that you overtaking... then i will flash, beep, gesticulate... and definately be calling you a tit head if its a queue.. then fair enough. the thing i hate is quiet motorway with drivers sat in the middle lane..what the devil is that all about. so there Quote
Crash Override Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 And HGV's... in outside lane of a dual carriageway! Oi watch it Take the speed limiters off and there wouldn't be a problem I use back roads quite regular with the artic and I'm always being held up by slow car drivers. Quote

If I was asked who the worst offenders where I wouldnt look at Mondeos ! I'd start with the BMW brigade (BMW bl**** minded ******) Dont know where you drive but there arent many empty m'ways around these parts So There ! Quote
Crash Override Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 Ahh this reminds me of driving to work last Sunday in the westy, came off a roundabout onto a dual track closing rapidly up behind an S-type Jag in the second lane who is closing on a car to overtake. I ease up and sit behind waiting for him to pass the car and pull in so I can continue to blat past, but instead the W****r decides he won't go by but block me by keeping pace with the other car (60 mph). So I move about in the mirrors a bit so he can see me and he starts dabbing the brakes, so I pull part way along side him behind the other car and shake my fist to no evale. Dual track is now coming to an end narrowing into single carridge, so he speeds up a little trying to blend in front of the other car forcing me to go behind it. Now I'm really pi$$ed off at this point and I know the road well and there is a big area with cheverons as it narrows to single lane, so I tuck myself up behind the Jag and as soon as it moves over due to the chevrons that was my chance, foot down and along the chevrons giving the driver universal hand gestures. Now I'm not one for doing things like that but on that one ocassion the red mist came down due to the Jag drivers blatent blocking, I don't know what he was thinking (if he was at all), maybe he was miffed that a kit car could out perform his expensive prestige Jag. Ah that feels better, rant over. Quote
